Eva

This is Fatim's mother, Eva. Coming from a German Muslim family of Punjabi-Palestinian descent, she is a woman who takes her faith very seriously and makes sure to abide by Islamic law. She made sure to raise her daughter in a welcoming environment, but Fatim avoided talking to her at around thirteen sometime after Ramadan. At first this frustrated her, but after a while she allowed her to stay silent about things she didn't want to mentioned. Eventually, Fatim moved to America and still didn't talk to her about herself until she invited her fiancee to a family gathering. The repercussions Fatim went through after years of hiding things from her mother was a smack upside the head. 
 She is a feminist who believes in salat along with psychiatry and medicine. She knows about mental health and neurological conditions and she's willing to let a professional help her and those around her; if they weren't needed they wouldn't exist for this long, she says.
